Werth is a graduate of Georgetown University and resides in Los Angeles, California.
Career
Prior to joining NBC News, Werth served as a Clinton Administration policy advisor regarding Secret Service and law enforcement issues. Previously, he served as a policy advisor to the Boston District Attorney.
Werth is a former investigative journalist for Dateline NBC. During his tenure, he produced investigative and breaking news stories, and earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Documentary Research for his work on an NBC primetime special about Vietnam veterans.
Werth co-directed and co-produced the 2008 documentary film The Third Jihad: Radical Islam's Vision For America, with Wayne Kopping. According to the film's website, radical Islamists have engaged in a "multifaceted strategy to overcome the western world," waging a "cultural jihad" to "infiltrate and undermine our society from within".
