Erik Heil

Erik Heil (born 10 August 1989) is a German sailor. He competes in the 49er and won a place in the Qualification for the 2016 Summer Olympics together with Thomas Plößel. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, they won the bronze medal.

During an Olympic test event in Rio de Janeiro Heil was infected by multi-resistant germs, which may have been caused by waste water from the city's hospitals running into the sea near the Olympic venues.
