Early and Personal Life
Born on September 26, 1991, Erica Deutschman belongs to Ontario, Canada. Erica dreamed of becoming an actress since she was a kid. She would go to the art camps and attended several acting programs that nourished her taste and interest in acting. Erica also started learning ballet at a very small age and danced until she was 18. She performed at the Nutcracker theater for eight years at her young age. She also trained in improv and has studied different acting techniques over the years.
Career
At the age of 18, Erica Deustschman made her acting debut in a show called Blue Mountain State that was shot in her hometown Montreal.
Erica Deustschman at the beginning of her career featured in Christos Sourligas’ dramatic feature film Happy Slapping. Later, she went on to grab a guest role in the hit show Lost Girl as well as A Stranger in My Home. She was also seen in a small role in Deepha Mehta’s Beeba Boys. The film was also chosen as an Official Selection at the prestigious Toronto Film Festival in 2015. She also appeared in TV Series American Gothic (2016) and Ransom (2018).
Erica is, however, best known for her role of Beth in the dramatic fantasy series Being Human. She garnered immense praise for her performance as Beth, a happy-go-lucky girl next door who transforms into an eerie hauntress to freak out the lead character and make his life miserable. After proving her mettle in acting with such series and films, Erica bagged several small and big parts in TV series and movies like The Howling Reborn, Hidden, Reign, Fatal Vows, Blue Mountain State, Sex Addict/Love Addict among others.
Apart from being a successful TV actress, Erica has also been a part of popular theater productions like The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, and The Comedy of Love and War.
In Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, Erica portrayed the role of Eloise and appeared in three episodes of the series. In the Lost Girl, Erica was seen as the milkmaid in one of the episodes of the show. Moreover, Erica played one of the pivotal roles in the short film Typical Love Story. Her character was named Jasmine in the short film.
In the Hallmark movie 'A Cheerful Christmas', Erica played the role of Lauren Dale, a Christmas coach.
Family
In an interview, Erica said that acting runs in her family. She would perform small plays with her grandma as a child and would ask other family members to sit and watch them.
