Eric Clemons is an American sportscaster who has worked with ESPN, Fox News Channel, BET, and NFL Play-by-Play. He is most popular for his work with Sports Center and his sideline NFL reporting.

Early life

Eric Clemons was born in early November 1959 on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. His family had a low income. Clemons was accepted at Columbia College to study Broadcast Communications. Clemons continued playing sports and experimented with graphic design, radio, and various classes in communication studies. Graduating in 1981 second in his class, Eric was offered a job as a sports anchor reporter in the city of Mobile, Alabama.

    Family

    Eric Clemons is a father of two and has been married for almost 26 years. His wife, a fellow Chicago native has known Clemons since she was a little girl, also growing up on the South Side of Chicago, IL. She is a writer and aspiring psychologist. Eric has 2 siblings and a large extended family. His daughter, 24, is an aspiring filmmaker graduating from Emerson College in 2010 and his son, 21, is a member of the United States Air Force.

    Other achievements

    Clemons is also a substitute teacher in the Hartford area of CT, engaged in public speaking events for local schools, churches, and community colleges, and dabbled in the performing arts. Clemons was the lead in the Repertory Theater of New Brittan's production of Blues in the Night, conceived and directed by Sheldon Epps in 2009. He is also a featured member of the popular Motown cover band 'Soul Sound Revue', singing, dancing.
