Henrique S. Yateman (c.1819-1880s) was an American businessman, member of the Masonic community of Buenos Aires.

Biography

Henry Yateman Collins possibly born in Virginia, son of a wealthy family of Jewish and Irish origin. He was married December 19, 1852 with Edelmira Carranza Viamonte, granddaughter of Juan José Viamonte. In 1860 during a trip by stagecoach to the city of Rosario, Yeteman it was found with his personal friend, General Justo José de Urquiza in the camp of Argentine Confederation that he prepared to fight the forces of State of Buenos Aires commanded by Bartolomé Mitre.

In 1864 Yateman presents a claim to the province of Entre Rios, in representation of several individuals who had acquired land in 1824. The court ruling was unprecedented in Argentina by adopt American doctrine that people can not sue the state.

Descendants

Enrique Yateman and Edelmira Carranza they had two children Mercedes Yateman and Enrique Yateman (Consul of Marseille), married in the city of Adrogué to Sara Bustos maternal granddaughter of Juan Manuel Canaveris Denis.
