Enatel Limited is an electronics company based in Christchurch, New Zealand. The company designs and manufactures of a range of smart power solutions for energy conversion, which are used in telecommunications, networking, wireless and industrial industries globally, as well as grid tied solar inverters for renewable energy, and motive power chargers for the industrial battery sector.
Enatel has three separate but complementary product divisions:
Enatel Energy develops and manufactures highly efficient power solutions for the telecommunications and industrial sectors.Enatel Motive Power provides high-efficiency chargers designed for conventional charging or fast charging of most electric vehicle batteries. It is the first large battery charger company in the world to have a range of battery chargers meet the California Energy Commission standard for energy efficiency.EnaSolar manufactures a range of grid-tied solar inverters.R&D: Enatel’s commitment to future growth sees a reinvestment of approximately 10% of revenue into research and development.Manufacturing: Enatel’s Environmental Management System is registered to AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004 for the management of the environmental aspects and impacts associated with the design and manufacture of switchmode power supplies and for the provision of contract electronic assembly services. Enatel’s Quality Management System is registered to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 for the design and manufacture of switch mode power supplies and for the provision of contract electronic assembly services. Enatel manufactures product carrying various product specific Certifications/Listings for which Factory Approval/Inspection is required with follow up by surveillance visits. Underwriter Laboratories (UL), Canadian Standards Authority (CSA), IECEx QAR & ATEX QAN. (BS EN ISO/IEC 80079-34:2011).In 1984, Eltec Electronics (later renamed Swichtec Power Systems) was formed by Dennis Chapman, Gary Foot, Andrew Davidson and John Morrissey, renowned specialists in fields of engineering, design and management, and became a multi-million dollar company, exporting more than 95% of its production to over 63 markets. This company and its technology were sold in 1997.
Four years after the Swichtec sale (2002), those same four specialists formed Enatel Ltd, specialising in switchmode technology for the telecommunications and industrial sectors, later diversifying into the motive power and solar photovoltaic markets.
