History
Emmessar Biotech & Nutrition Ltd (EBNL), was originally started as Emmessar Chemical Industries Ltd (ECIL) on March 17,1992, for manufacturing super specialty fine chemicals. The company succeeded in developing many specialty fine chemicals, which were recognised by DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, New Delhi in January 1996.
When there was a realisation that some of the specialty chemicals developed in ECIL’s R&D and exported to USA & Europe were being used in healthcare formulations, the company decided to reorient itself and enter the healthcare business. Concurrently, the company also realised that some of the specialty chemicals were actually Vital Micro Nutrients, and were used in the research worldwide as tools of Biotechnology. The company then took a conscious decision to enter the field of Biotechnology & Healthcare.
To ensure that the name is representative of its activity, the company's name was changed from Emmessar Chemical Industries Ltd., to Emmessar Biotech & Nutrition Ltd., on 7th April 2000.
CalmCream, a multi-purpose skin cream that is used to treat many obstinate skin problems was launched in Jan 2001. EBNL conducted successful clinical trials for CalmCream in 3 well known government hospitals in Mumbai. Subsequently many other healthcare products were introduced.

EBNL’s range of products caters to patients with obstinate skin problems, muscle problems, bone problems and many other debilitating chronic physical ailments. Presently, EBNL has over 38 products that can help treat over 200 different problems. The product categories include – Bone Care, General Health, Muscle Care, Pain Relief, Sexual Health, Skin Care and Skin Cure.
EBNL states that all the ingredients it uses are readily available for efficient absorption by the body, both internal & external. The extraction process of the active ingredients is designed by EBNL in a manner to avoid possible allergic reactions. EBNL claims that the complex of extracted active ingredients is ensured to be harmonious and that it instantly triggers favorable bio-chemical reactions resulting in systemic harmony in the body.
EBNL’s formulations contain time-tested edible nutrients (natural mineral & vegetable) and none of EBNL’s formulations contain any ingredient of animal origin.
