Emantras started as a small web development company focused on using Macromedia Flash to educate and expanded services across multiple domains within e-learning, mobile learning and digital media.

History

2000 - Company founded in 2000 by Sesh Kumar, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the company. Emantras was initially started as a seven-member company delivering services in web development and related areas

2001 - With a team of 20 people, Emantras emerged as a web solutions company with new customers, delivering websites in Flash, web applications, presentations and e-commerce applications.

2002 - Continuous growth and expansion of services in new areas resulted in growth in team size to 50. In 2002 Emantras became a total IT solution company delivering services in multiple areas such as Software development, Web Maintenance, Hosting and Search Engine Optimization.

2003 - saw a quick functional growth and diversification in the services offered. Emantras emerged delivering comprehensive e-learning related services such as custom courseware, 2D/3D animations, LMS integration, and training manuals.

2004 - Became a global company with worldwide headquarters in Fremont, California. Expanded operations in Europe A complete Digital Education company providing elearning services across varied industry verticals such as k- 12 and Higher Ed, Healthcare and Pharma and Corporate and Enterprise. Achieved the ISO 9001:2000 Certification for Quality Management System. Established new development centre in Chennai, India

2005 - A 200-member company. New customers including fortune 500 companies. R&D on product development. Became content partner for Angel Learning.

2006 - Among the first 100 companies to be certified for ISO 27001:2005 (information security standards). Introduced products such as DCE, MobLs. R&D on mobile learning and game based learning. Successful partnership with Adobe, Saba and Blackboard

2007 - Emerged as a company specializing in content creation and technology enablement services. Continuous growth, 350+ Employees, 100+ global client list, including Fortune 500 companies Established second development centre in Chennai, India Established a learning & media lab focusing on research & development of various methods to make learning though digital medium most effective. Introduced products like HALO, REED. Expansion of services into high end game based learning On the road to CMMI level three.

2008 - Emantras diversified a little further by launching a new business unit in Gurgaon, India called Mlab. Mlab is the specialty media division of Emantras with an expertise in animation, VFX, user design and gaming. Mlab produced two short movies- Music Binds all and Curios Todd, which were well received and screened in prestigious festivals like IIF-la and Annecy, France.

2009 – Mindwire - an iPhone application developed by emantras to facilitate learning through subscribed stack cards/quizzes.

2010 - Emantras entered the mobile learning industry with the launch of its new mobile learning application, Mobl21. Later this year, Mobl21 won the “Most Innovative Education Product or Service” award from the Software & Information Industry Association as part of the Innovation Incubator Program at its annual Ed Tech Industry Summit, held May 24, 2010, in San Francisco. Mobl21 also won the Distinguished Achievement Awards for best Educational Toys and Games from American Educational Publishers in June 2010.

2011 - Mobl21 wins the Innovation Award from Learning Without Frontiers in January.

2012 - Emantras won the distinguished Brandon Hall Gold Award for excellence in the Competencies and Skill Development category. Emantras also won its first Emmy award for its contribution in a Spanish infomercial, titled ‘Cardiovitaminas’
