Elymentz is a cross-platform mobile instant messaging app for Smartphones that provides free chat, chat translation, scheduled calls, voice conferencing to individuals and businesses. The application has been cited for its ability to translate on the go in side a chat box and giving a seamless experience. The app targets communication gaps, such as HD calling with in the network and VoIP calling outside of network, that have not been addressed by mainstream apps as a niche.

History

The app has been developed and maintained by Elymentz Sprl, founded by Nikhil Sharma, in 2014. According to the CEO, using VoIP is the way forward for SMEs and Elymentz filled the gap and simplify telephony for SMEs. Since launched the app is reached till 157 countries and is used by both individuals and businesses.

The application aims to fill in the gap that mainstream chat apps leave out. This factor is addressed by providing the capability of HD calls within the networks, allowing for transparency in rates to call outside of the network and display of local time at destination when the call is made to fill in both the language as well as the distance gap and make it appear to each side that they are chatting with a person in their own timezone and in their own language.

The app's features target international travelers, smart phone users and businessmen who are not satisfied by functionality of other mobile applications.

The application allows free chat, calls, voice conferencing to registered and non-registered users and is available in multiple languages. The app additionally allows in-chat translation and enabled 20 users to connect to a conference via call scheduling. The Group participant limit was later increased to 100 users along with a new user interface and the chat character limit was increased to 5000. Apart from the mentioned basic features, the app includes a reminder service, snap shots of the schedule, call blocking etc.

The client software is available in Android, iOS, Elymentz works on both 3G/4G and Wi-Fi networks. It first requires installation on a phone or mobile device with the user's phone number. A verification code is sent to the user phone in order to measure the security of the users with its phone. An alternate option of verification is IVR (Interactive Voice Response) User can opt for this service to have the Pin code delivered. The users can exchange images, video and audio media messages, stickers, emoticons, Doodle (only in Android version), Group message up to 100 participants. Along with exchange of the message, Elymentz is equipped to translate the chat message on the fly in the 16 languages. Always receive the translated message in your language and option to view the original. All the messages, Video, audio, Doodle can be shared and forwarded to in app and other apps.

Translation capability

The app's in-chat translation capability has been reported to have an advantage over normal chats or using google translate in chrome due to the fact that it can assist in translation on the fly without having to leave the chat box while chatting with friends. This has been reported to allow quicker professional communications such as those between business users, travelers and medical professionals by removing the language barrier. Decoded cites Elymentz as a capability that would help in crisis and outbreaks such as ebola where professionals would need to tackle the situation while staying in touch with medical aid staff from all around the world along with building cross border relationships by removing language gaps.
