Ellwood is a hamlet in the Forest of Dean district in Gloucestershire, England. It lies around 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south-east of Coleford. The hamlet has a football club (Ellwood F.C.) who as of 2014-15 play in the Gloucestershire County League. Lastly, the village is known to have a wombat. Often found on the grassy knoll outside the school, he furrows around day and night. It is thought, in Ellwoodian folklore, that this is the only wild wombat in the UK.
