Elite gymnastics is this on me

Elite Gymnastics was a multimedia art project from Minneapolis, Minnesota and later Vancouver, British Columbia. Formed in Minneapolis in 2009 as a duo consisting of James Brooks and Joshua Clancy, they released several EPs and mixtapes before Clancy's departure in 2012. Brooks continued the project solo, relocating to Vancouver following a stint in New York City, releasing the single "Andreja 4-Ever" as part of the Adult Swim Singles Program the same year.

As a duo, they released six EPs: Real Friends, Neu! '92, Gizzard Greens, Ruin, Ruin 3, and Ruin 4 (Gizzard Greens being a digital double EP consisting of three bootleg remixes and one cover). The Ruin EP was released to critical acclaim and quickly earned them a following online where they released most of their music through Tumblr as free digital downloads. While their previous albums were released digitally for free through their own Tumblr-based Psychedelic Surf Club imprint, Ruin saw a physical release in vinyl format under the electronic label Acéphale, with the B-side, or Ruin 2, being five remixed versions of the six original tracks. Ruin and Ruin 2 were later released for free download as a digital double EP.

The name Elite Gymnastics was taken from the lyrics of "Ruthless Babysitting" by power electronics group Whitehouse.
