Biography

de Las Casas, best known by the moniker Kid Chef Eliana, was born in Gretna, Louisiana. She is the author of three cookbooks and a weekly radio show called Cool Kids Cook on the VoiceAmerica network. She attends the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and is enrolled in the culinary arts program. de Las Casas is the daughter of children’s book author, Dianne de Las Casas.

Career

de Las Casas was named one Best Up and Coming Chef in Louisiana by the New Orleans chapter of the American Culinary Federation in 2014. She volunteers as the SoFAB Institute Kids Ambassador and the Crescent City Farmer’s Market Marketeer Ambassador. She is the IFCO Youth Produce Ambassador. In 2012, she was named 40 Under 40 by Gambit Magazine. She has been profiled on television and in numerous national and international print publications including TeenVOGUE, Muses & Visionaries, GINJA, Reforma, Louisiana Kitchen & Culture, Louisiana Cookin’, American Girl, Ingredient, and Iguana magazines.
