Gerstner began composing songs as a teenager and to date has composed over 1,500 songs which grace concerts and school performances around the world. He produces albums of contemporary Jewish religious music under the name "EG Productions". He launched and produces the Yeshiva Boys Choir, The Chevra, Yosis Orchestra, Tek-Noy, Menucha, and Dovid Stein.

Gerstner was born in 1980. He is married to Chani (Chana Perel) Schreiber. They have three children, Yaakov, Moishe, and Breindy Rachel, and live in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.
