With 119 years of experience, Elekeiroz S.A., a 100 percent Brazilian publicly held business controlled by the holding company "Itaúsa-Investimentos Itaú S.A.", is a forerunner of the production of input and intermediate chemicals for industrial purposes that meet customer requirements in the building and construction, footwear, clothing, automotive, food and various chemical industries, among others, as well as agribusiness.

While producing unsaturated polyester resins, formaldehyde, formaldehyde-urea concentrate and sulfuric acid, Elekeiroz is the only integrated producer of oxo derivatives (n-Butanol, Isobutanol, 2-Ethylhexanol and 2-Ethylhexanoic acid), phthalic and maleic anhydrides and plasticizers in South America.
The operations are strategically based on two sites, one located in Camaçari, Bahia, at Brazil's largest petrochemical complex, with a vast availability of raw materials and easy access to the ports of Aratu and Salvador, and one in Várzea Paulista, São Paulo, which sits in the country's largest consumer market, is near the state's most important highways, and is also connected by rail to the Port of Santos, São Paulo.
