Electra Meccanica Vehicles Corp. is a Canadian Electric vehicle manufacturer established in 2015 in Vancouver, British Columbia and unveiled the new 2017 SOLO, its first designed product, in late 2016.

The SOLO and Super SOLO Electric Vehicles
Electra Meccanica Vehicles Corp. is a Canadian car manufacturer that currently produces the SOLO, a three-wheeled, single-passenger electric vehicle. The zero-emission SOLO will is a three-wheel, battery electric vehicle promoted by Electra Meccanica as “The Smartest Commuter Car On The Planet.” The SOLO will have a 160 km (100 mile) range, a 130 km/h maximum speed and a 3-6 hour recharge time. The SOLO’s 8.6 kWh, 82 hp lithium-ion electric motor produces 140 ft-lbs of torque from a standstill. EMV demonstrated the SOLO with a 16.1 kWh battery in September 2016, to be available in 2017.
Their second designed vehicle being developed is the Super SOLO, a sport-car style of the 3-wheel, single-passenger electric vehicle.
Car components are provided from India and China, including a partnership with Zongshen Industrial Group. Assembly is performed in British Columbia in New Westminster and North Saanich. SOLO Stores are located in Downtown Vancouver and Richmond, B.C. Canada, with plans for expansion across major cities in the USA and around the world.
Origin
Electra Meccanica Vehicles Corp. was co-founded in 2015 by Henry Reisner of Intermeccanica and Jerry Kroll, former race-car champion and former CEO of CRAiLAR Technologies. Kroll previously developed electric drive systems in race cars for five years at the NASA Research Park in Mountain View, California. In 2017, Mark West, former President of Blenz Coffee became President of Electra Meccanica.
