The program

Due to its success in Brazil, Xuxa signed a contract with Telefe channel in the early 1990s to present a Spanish version of Xou da Xuxa.

El Show de Xuxa, the Argentine version was a phenomenon, reaching 24 rating points (more than in Brazil). The program made Xuxa a celebrity in several Latin American countries and served as support for the release of her Spanish albums. One of the most remembered album of her career is her first disc Xuxa 1, released in 1989/90. It contains great successes of the presenter with Ilarié, Arco-Ires, Bombón, Quiero Pan, Campeón, Dulce Miel, Danza de Xuxa, Juguemos a los Indios, Receta de Xuxa e El Circo. This was the first program to be broadcast abroad with a Brazilian host.

Although broadcast in the late afternoon, the program was identical to Xou da Xuxa, from scenery to games and drawings. The only difference in the Argentine program was that the entry of children under five years was allowed, unlike Brazilian program. The characters were also exported to Argentine program and were part of the cast Paquitas, Dengue, Praga and even the Irmãs Metralha, that in Argentina began to call Melizas.

Five programs were recorded per day every two weeks. The "Show of Xuxa" came to be broadcast for 17 Latin American countries and the United States by Univision.

In 1993, the show became produced independently, no longer by Telefe, and was transmitted in Argentina by Canal 13. The reason given at the time was that the station's studios were too small to accommodate the number of children who wanted to participate in recordings, beyond what was required by issuing various rules and standards that limited the freedom of creation and presentation of the program. In 1992, the show had to be recorded in Brazil, due to a fire in the studio.

The last episode aired on December 31, 1993, after Xuxa chose to focus on her career in Brazil.
