El Afweyn, also known as Ceel Afweyn, is a town in the northern Sanaag region of Somalia. It is the third largest city in the province.

Demographics
The broader El Afweyn District has a total population of 65,797 residents. The city is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, with the Habar Jeclo (Biciide) sub clan of Isaaq well-represented.
