Language and culture
The native language is Lokaau. English is the official language; other languages spoken in Ekori include Efik, Ibo, Ibibio, Yoruba, and Hausa.
Religion
The people of Ekori are mainly Christian with a small population of Muslims and followers of traditional religions. More than half of the population are farmers; they plant mainly cassava and yam. Eighty percent of the cassava is processed to become garri.
