Biography
Eileen Chong was born in 1980 in Singapore. She moved to Sydney, Australia in 2007.
She won the Poets Union Youth Fellowship in 2010 and was the Australian Poetry Fellow for 2011-2012. Her book, Burning Rice, was published in 2012 by Australian Poetry Limited in the New Voices Series 2012 and re-published in 2013 by Pitt Street Poetry. Her new collection, Peony, is also published by Pitt Street Poetry in 2014.
She has been mentored by the Australian poet. Judith Beveridge and Anthony Lawrence.
Her work has been published in Australian and Singaporean literary journals from 2008 and has also been collected in various anthologies.
