Biography
Ives was born on December 18, 1820 in Newton Falls, Ohio. From 1848 to 1852, Ives was Sheriff of Des Moines County, Iowa. He moved to Prescott, Wisconsin in 1858.
Political career
Ives was a member of the Senate representing the 28th district from 1870 to 1871. Previously, he had been elected to the Assembly in 1868. He was a Democrat.
