The company was founded on 20.8. 2012 as Edupower Oy Ab by Kim Westerlund. The company is described as based on a recipe with two parts of industry and one part higher education. Thus the identity is an industrial company, however with an integral connection to the higher education area. The international parallel name is Edupower Ltd.
Edupower Energy Management
EduPower is specialised in smart energy use and implementation of sustainable energy in operations of company's customers. Edupower has close connections to Vaasa Energy Institute, a cooperation organization between the cluster of energy experts and Vaasa Consortium of Higher Education. The company's operation is based on long-term international experience of power plant project design and delivery. The main part of Edupower's activities consists of an assessment of power plant project feasibility and profitability, and support of their implementation and capital investments. EduPower Energy Management also supports energy efficiency through training for educational, municipal and industry needs.
ENI – Edupower Nordic Institute
Competence development activities of Edupower are handled under the name Edupower Nordic Institute (ENI). ENI is driven by Lean thinking, creativity and cooperation. In practice, ENI implements projects where industry and students have familiarized themselves with Lean principles and developed the competitiveness and profitability of companies according to Lean thinking. Projects are based on the needs and resources of the customer. In company cooperation, ENI can provide tailored solutions with standardized processes for each case; with teamwork and application of Lean principles in real cases.
ENI has had access to an international training and development network from the beginning. ENI uses this network to the benefit of customer and partner companies. Among these partners are educational institutions, companies and experts in the field. The network of partners includes the Shanghai region and the Nordic countries, among others.
