Edo Segal

Early life

Segal was born in Israel in March 27, 1969. His family moved to New York City when he was 10 so his father, an artist, could break into the New York art scene. It was then that he began learning to code. After 3 years they moved back to Israel.

After High School, he joined the Golani Brigade, becoming a captain. After leaving active duty, he tried many things from writing, going to art school, and he began a CD-ROM Company.

Relegence - Founder

Founded by Segal in 1999, Relegence was born from "a quest to create the real-time internet, to create a world where if a piece of information relevant to you is published - anywhere - it will be on your desktop that second.” Segal and his team were able to build Relegence for seven years, working with Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan, Beutche Bank, Merril Lynch, Bloomberg, and Dow Jones, until its acquisition by AOL in 2006 where it’s technology was applied to their Money & Finance site to create a more dynamic and visual display. Relegence was described as “the premier global technology company putting real time information, news and knowledge in the hands of end users moments after it is published”.

AOL - VP Emerging Platforms

During his year at AOL after the acquisition, Segal served as the Vice President of Emerging Platforms and Explored Disruptive Technologies. He then left to found the bMuse Group in order to pursue his own projects.

bMuse Group - CEO

(April 2008 – Present) Edo created bMuse as an incubator for his startups. In his words it "is an innovation platform that creates and supports companies focused primarily on the exciting and lucrative future of the media industry. bMuse supports its companies with a multi-disciplinary shared platform offering both technology IP and management support. Bmuse helps their companies grow faster by providing them with the capital, engineering, design, marketing and business development resources they need, when they need them. bMuse companies benefit from access to common technology platforms that remove the need for each company to "start from scratch". This model helps accelerate iteration and fuel a "what" vs. "how" product centric culture."

Magic Mirror is a mobile developer company.

Magic Mirror Junior provides unique ways to experience stories and characters in ways that leverage the full features, processing power and ability of tablets and mobile devices. With Magic Mirror technology, readers will be able to cast their entire family to play parts in the stories, with full costumes, makeup and all the elements needed to put on a show. These experiences can develop values and literacy as well as strengthening the bond between parents and their children.

ElfYourself

Kinsa is the first FDA-cleared app-enabled thermometer. Because of its connected nature, Kinsa is able to track illnesses in geographical areas whether within a local area or a school. It can also offer insight on whether a doctor's visit is recommended or close observation at home.
