Edmond Leka, is one of the most successful and influential Albanian entrepreneurs. Edmond Leka was born in Tirana, Albania on the 17 May 1963. He is the founder and owner of Financial Union Tirana, Union Bank, UnionNet, MediaUnion and Auto Union. Edmond Leka's investment portfolio extends into further activities, including real estate development, media & telecomunication and the financial sector. His corporations in spread across Europe, in countries such as Albania, Switzerland, Macedonia and Kosovo, employing over 3,000 people. This makes Edmond Leka one of the most thriving and influential businessmen in Albania as portrayed in the Financial Times [1] .

Early life

Edmond Leka started his career as an engineer after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Tirana in 1987. He started his career at KESH, the state electircity utility. In the mid-1990s, Mr. Leka joined the public administration.

Career in Business

In 1995, Edmond Leka moved into the private sector by starting the Western Union Franchise as part of the Financial Union Tirane.[2]
