Edith Lagos was a terrorist, member of Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso).

Born into a wealthy family, she studied law at a San Martin de Porres University, before dropping out to join Shining Path

In 1980, she escaped prison after a terrorist detachment blew a hole in the Ayacucho jail which freed all of the prisoners, including captured fellow terrorists, suspects of terrorist activity and other criminals.

Two years later after promoting and participating in terrorist activities with Shining Path, Edith Lagos died in a shootout incident involving the Police and counter-terrorist forces in the town of Umaca.

She was later buried in her town of birth, Ayacucho. It was estimated that up to 30,000 people attended the funeral . Her tomb was later bombed by the Rodrigo Franco Command, a false flag paramilitary group.
