Edgar Barrera

Edgar Barrera (born April 18, 1990) is a songwriter, producer, recording engineer, and musician based in Miami FL. He has won a total of 10 Latin Grammys and 1 Grammy Award including Album of The Year. He has written and produced songs for artists such as Maluma ("Sin Contrato" feat Wisin & Don Omar and Fifth Harmony; "Tengo Un Amor" feat Leslie Grace), Prince Royce ("Para Llegar A Ti", "You Are The One"), Banda el Recodo ("Vale La Pena", "Todo Tuyo", "Las Fresas" feat Wisin), Banda MS ("El Bien Amado"), Thalía ("De Ti", "Ojala"), Samo ("Sin Ti", "Creer En Mi"), Chino & Nacho ("Si Estoy Junto A Ti"), Silvestre Dangond ("Ya No Me Duele Mas" feat Farruko), Christian Daniel ("Me Vuelvo Un Cobarde", "Te Has Convertido En Mi"), Kevin Ortiz ("Vamos Portandonos Mal"), Natalia Jimenez ("Te Esperare"), Leslie Grace ("Como Duele El Silencio"), Luciano Pereyra "Tu Dolor", and PeeWee ("Duele Decirte Adios"), "Bien Sabes Tu" feat Rio Roma. In 2011, Barrera interned at Studio on the Groove, mentored by Colombian multi-platinum songwriter/producer Andres Castro. Months later, he began working as a full-time engineer under Castro's wing. There, Omar Alfanno invited Barrera to join him and Castro to a songwriting session from which several songs were developed, including "Ojala" for Thalia, "Me Vuelvo Un Cobarde" for Christian Daniel, "Te Esperare" for Natalia Jimenez, "Sin Su Amor" for Banda Los Recoditos, among others.

At the 13th, 14th and 16th Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, Barrera made headlines for being one of the nominees with the most nominations to this prestigious award three times.
