Career

Negre led 202 laps out of the 64857 laps that he raced in his career - the equivalent of 6,545.7 miles (10,534.3 km). His total career earnings were $344,180 USD ($1,135,746.66 when considering inflation). While his average starting position was 24th place, 22nd was Negre's average finishing position. One of his main sponsors was the Dick Brooks Honda. Negre would be famous for driving the #8 on the track (as this would become the number that he would use the most often). He is also famous for fielding the first Cup ride for Dale Earnhardt in the #8 car at the 1975 World 600. However, he would also get the most amount of DNFs (37) while competing in the #8 machine. This would be counteracted by Negre getting 44 finishes in the top-twenty while competing in the #8 car.
