The Eat Real Festival is an annual, two-day food festival that takes place in Oakland, California. The festival focuses on food and drinks produced locally, sustainably and organically. The first festival was held in 2009. The fourth festival took place at Jack London Square. Eat Real Festival has an opening night "Meatopia" party focusing on locally made meat-based dishes, the party requires paid tickets and is a benefit. The festival itself is free, and food costs $5 or less to purchase. An estimated 150,000 people attend it. In 2011, the Eat Real Festival was voted the best annual event in the readers' poll for the Best of the Bay held by the East Bay Express.
