In 1983 a new wing was added to the hospital and while the old wing was converted to a nursing home called Duncan MacMillan Nursing Home. The new wing is called the Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital.

In 2011, Duncan MacMillan Nursing Home was torn down and replaced by Harbourview Lodge.
