History

Formed in 1885, the East Ballarat Football Club was the second oldest in the Ballarat Football League after Ballarat Football Club at the time the club merged with Golden Point FC in 2001. The Bulldogs won six premierships in its history. Golden Point Football Club won 14 premierships in its history after it joined the League in 1905. The Kangaroos now occupy the historic Eastern Oval, located in Ballarat East, which is known for its well preserved Edwardian architecture.

Club record and structure

The Kangaroos have not won a flag since the merger, although they have finished runners-up in 2006, 2007, and 2009. The team's jumper was designed by Matthew Sheedy as a combination of the East Ballarat and Golden Point playing tops as well as the new combined club's mascot, the kangaroo. Beyond the senior mens football team, the club also has a women's football team (the Dragons), and under 18.5 football and netball teams, as well as two junior bodies: the Golden Point Juniors and East Ballarat Juniors.
