East lyme high school pep rally 2016 senior run in


East Lyme High School is a high school located in the Flanders Village region of East Lyme, Connecticut. It is operated by East Lyme Public Schools. The mascot is Sven the Viking. Students from the town of Salem, Connecticut in grades 9 through 12 attend high school in East Lyme (as they have no high school of their own); this will be the case until at least 2016 when the current co-op agreement between the two towns expires.

In addition to the courses offered and taught by the faculty, East Lyme High School encourages academic progress and has joint cooperative programs with the Three Rivers Community College, Connecticut College, and The University of Connecticut. The high school has previously been accredited by the New England Association for Schools and Colleges. Reevaluation for accreditation is being scheduled for November 2010.

    According to U.S. News and World Report, East Lyme High School is ranked 524th nationally and 12th in the state of Connecticut. The school has a reading proficiency level of 97% and a math proficiency level of 96%. In conjunction with the College Board's Advanced Placement program, East Lyme High School offers many students the opportunity to earn college credit through any one of 17 AP classes offered. College credit can also be earned through East Lyme High School's coordination with the University of Connecticut's Early College Experience program. Some students pursue further opportunities through school-supported participation in independent study and community service.

    Starting with the class of 2015, East Lyme High School will no longer offer a class ranking system.
