Beginning with the 2010–2011 school year, middle school grades 7 and 8 were moved into the building from the former East Liverpool Middle School.
Current school
East Liverpool High School is located on a hill off of the city's Maine Boulevard via the school's driveway, dubbed "Potter Pride Drive".
ELHS consists of three buildings. The main building houses most of the classes, the office, and cafeteria. At the other end of the parking lot is the vocational building, where some of the career tech classes are located. Adjacent to the main building and also across from the vocational building is the Potter Fieldhouse. Here, the school's gymnasium, auditorium, and band room are located, as well as few classrooms.
Additionally, there is an elementary school located on the hill on Potter Pride Drive, North Elementary. North houses grades K through 4 and is one of only two current elementary schools in the district. The North Elementary building was the first school in the district to be recently renovated, and is located just down from the Fieldhouse.
Down Potter Pride Drive from the ELHS buildings and North Elementary is the Frank J. Mangano Memorial Olympic Track. The track is the only sports facility other than the Fieldhouse located on the hill, as the district's football field, Patterson Field, is located next to the city's middle school.
Original location
East Liverpool High School hasn't always been located on the hill off of Maine Boulevard. It used to be located in downtown East Liverpool, as compared to its current location in a neighborhood of the city.
Originally, the school was located on East 4th Street. This building included a clock tower. Unfortunately, after moving, the school and tower were torn down. A new clock tower and a small adjoining building have since been built on this site. The building houses the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association. A second structure was located just yards away from this building on the corner of East 4th Street and Broadway. There was also a separate building adjacent to the latter building that housed a gymnasium, called the Memorial Auditorium. The high school remained in these buildings until 1968, when the Maine Boulevard structure was completed.
In 1968, the East 4th/Broadway building was sold to Kent State University for $1 and since then has been home to Kent State University at East Liverpool, one of the university's regional campuses. The Memorial Auditorium is now a YMCA, but the building is owned by KSU.
Athletics
The following is an alphabetical list of sports offered by the high school.

Athletic facilities
The only Potter sport that has no home event throughout its season is the cross country team. Even though they have no home course, they still practice in the city (specifically, in East Liverpool's Thompson Park).
