East Hampton Union Free School District is a public school district located in the Town of East Hampton on Long Island, in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It includes the village of East Hampton in addition to the surrounding area located north of the village. The district is made up of three schools: the John. M. Marshall Elementary School, the East Hampton Middle School, and East Hampton High School. The superintendent is Richard J. Burns.

Enrollment

The total enrollment for the 2012-2013 school year was 897 students.

The district also educates secondary students from adjacent districts with no high school, including Amagansett Union Free School District, Montauk Union Free School District, Sagaponack Common School District, Springs Union Free School District, and Wainscott Common School District.

Proposals have been made to merge with nearby districts, but have not been adopted.

The high school football team also includes students from Pierson High School (Sag Harbor, New York) and Bridgehampton, New York High School.

Schools

  • East Hampton High School, located at 2 Long Lane, East Hampton, New York, is the easternmost high school in the state of New York. The principal is Adam Fine. Its sports teams are known as the Bonackers, and the school colors are maroon and gray. The current high school facility opened in 1970, and a $49 million expansion was scheduled to be completed in 2010. From 1923 to 1970, the high school occupied the building that now houses the middle school.
