EN 417

EN 417 is a European specification concerning non-refillable metallic cartridges for liquefied petroleum gases.

More colloquially it is used to refer to the 7/16" UNEF threaded valve used on disposable butane and/or butane/isobutane/propane mix cartridges used in some backpacking stoves. The correct name for this valve is Lindal B188 valve, after the manufacturer designation. This is somewhat improper use as there are some EN 417 stoves that do not have a Lindal valve, such as the piercable Epigas canisters often used in Europe.

Common suppliers of gas cylinders and camp stoves are Epigas (Coleman), GoSystem, Primus, Brunton, Jetboil, Snow Peak, and many others.
