eBiblio Is a service that makes possible the loan of digital contents to all the users with carnet of the public libraries of the Spanish State. Can access to these contents through different devices: personal computers, readers of electronic books, tauletes or intelligent telephones. The service has promoted him the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of the Government of Spain in collaboration with the autonomous communities and offers works of fiction and of no fiction so much for childish public like adult.

History
The apparition of the ebooks or electronic books arose in the decade of the ninety. With this, appeared a new challenge for the libraries regarding the new digital contents. The libraries of the United States were the first to use platforms of loan of this type and the first impulsores of platforms of this type. The first attempts for engegar a service of loan of digital contents in public libraries originated in 2010. On 2011, the Ministry of Culture, through the sotsdirecció general of coordination librarian, carry out a project based in two prospects. Of a band potenciar the popularització of the use of teams of reading and for another, the use of electronic books in the public Libraries of the State(BPE). To the end of aqueix year, the Ministry purchased 667 devices of reading (ereaders) with a collection of works of public domain, putting them to the disposal of #several BPES. The project served to familiarise with the use of digital contents in units of information like the libraries. It was also in 2011, when arose the first services of loan in libraries of autonomic and local scope. In 2013 the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport decided to initiate an ambitious project of national field that achieved to give a definite impulse to this type of loan in the Spanish public libraries, being born like this eBiblio.
Project
The Secretaria of State of Culture of the MECD hired in 2013 for procedure opened a guarantee for the acquisition of licences of use of electronic books for his loan, through public libraries. This agreement corresponded to the development of the general strategic Plan 2012-2015. The platform integrates with the systems of documentary management of the autonomous communities, in a service web that guarantees the protection of personal data. eBiblio Facilitates the loan of licences of digital contents to the users with carnet of library. The cost of the project was assumed entirely in 2014 for the MECD.
Service and requirements of operation
Regarding the service, is accessible 24 hours by the day, 365 days by the year. It requires to have of a device of compatible reading with the formats of publication and access to internet, in addition to carnet of library as well as e-mail. It facilitates the access to the catalogue of titles to choose them for the loan in digital format (epub and pdf), to be read in any electronic device. Through the website of eBiblio of each Community the user can sail between a varied offer of contents or proceed to the search of a work for title, author, matter, ISBN, etc. Once located the work chosen, can access to the information on the same and know his availability ( immediate or in reserve). This service allow the options of normal return, fast, renewal and cancel•lació of reservation. With regard to the return, has of a term of 21 natural days. Once loaned, allow restituir the loan in two hours, without consuming the licence. After consuming the days of licence, the electronic book ceases to be accessible in the devices. Each user obtains an account in which facilitates him the follow-up of his books loaned and reservations. Since the October 8, 2015, there have been some changes in the technological platform of loan of electronic books with an app own for Android and for IOS, renown eBiblio without territorial identification for autonomous community.

After his presentation in 2014, eBiblio goes difondre àgilment through the media to local level, regional and national. In press, radio, television as well as in the social networks.
