Duxbury High School is a public high school in New England, located in the sea-side town of Duxbury, Massachusetts. The superintendent of the district is Dr. Benedict Tantillo, III and the principal of Duxbury High School is Andrew Stephens. The Ellison High School is located on 130 St. George Street where classes were held from 1968 to 2014. The co-located Middle and High School is located at 71 Alden Street, and opened in 2014.
Total enrollment at the high is 1,037 students with 75 full-time teachers. The average class size is 19.1 students with a student-teacher ratio of 13.5:1. The district per pupil spending is $11,825. The graduation rate for DHS is 98.8% with 88% of students pursuing higher education. 18 Advanced Placement courses are offered. The participation rate in AP courses is 67% with an exam passing rate of 76%. Boston Magazine ranked Duxbury High School #23 on their list of Best Public Schools in Boston 2014.
