Notable former pupils

  • Joanna Burton - opera singer
  • Wendy Craig - actress
  • Wendy Gibson - actress and news presenter
  • Sister Anne Williams - Church Army Captain and member of the General Synod of the Church of England
  • Sarah Gatenby - news presenter and journalist
  • Chantalle Edmunds - journalist
  • Amy Tinkler - Olympic Bronze Medallist
  • Projects

The school works in co-operation with the Durham/Lesotho Link and girls from the sixth form visit the Kingdom of Lesotho every summer to help in orphanages that support children affected by AIDS. Lesotho is completely surrounded by South Africa, making it expensive to get AIDS relief to the county. Many fundraising events take place throughout the year to increase funds for these projects.
