Dungourney (Irish: Dún Guairne, meaning "Guairne's fort") is a village in County Cork, Ireland on the R627 regional road 9 km (5.6 mi) northeast of Midleton. The Kiltha river flows through the village. St. Peter's National School is located in the centre.

The Fitzgibbon cup is named after a Dungourney man called Fr. Edwin Fitzgibbon. He was born in 1884 and went to school in the local area. He ventured into the Capuchin Franciscan Order in 1893. In 1938, he died and was buried at the Capuchin cemetery in Rochestown.
Kiltha Óg : Kiltha Óg is a combination of Castlemartyr and Dungourney and when the players get to under 16 they split up into Castlemartyr and Dungourney . Kiltha Óg was founded in 2003. Every year Kiltha Óg has a night to celebrate the great work throughout the year and it is called the social.
Jamesey Kelleher, a Dungourney man, was born in March 1878. Jamesey has been acclaimed by many as one of the greatest hurlers to play for Cork. Jamesey's first recorded game was in the summer of 1892 at the age of fourteen on a 21 aside Dungourney team against Kilcounty. He started out as a goalkeeper and finished out on the backline. He was also a brilliant jockey and won many point to points.
Clonmult ambush

Agriculture
The 3 main types of farming that take place in Dungourney are tillage, beef, and dairy. The main type of farming is dairy which involves farmers milking their cows on their farms and then the milk truck comes and collects the milk every second day. Beef farming involves farmers rearing cattle to approx 2 years of age to supply beef to the local meat factories. Tillage farming involves planting crops of wheat, barley and maize to be harvested and sold to local feed mills and in turn sold back to the beef and dairy farmers .
