Dripping Springs Independent School District is a public school district based in the northwest portion of Hays County, Texas (USA), serving approximately 5,400 students.

In addition to Dripping Springs, the district serves the village of Bear Creek and rural areas in northwestern Hays County. A small portion of southwestern Travis County also lies within the district.
The school district and all five campuses have "Met Standard" in the Texas Education Association ratings. In December 2014 Dripping Springs ISD was recognized in a report released by the Texas Comptroller's Office as having the highest rating for efficiency in spending while attaining high levels of student achievement, one of 46 public school districts/charters statewide to do so. DSISD has earned Gold Leadership Circle Award from the Texas State Comptroller's Office in recognition of the district's financial transparency for three consecutive years. Dripping Springs ISD has been selected as a state finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District of the Year Award for two consecutive years (2014 and 2015). On May 10, 2014, voters approved a $94 million bond to build a second middle school and a fourth elementary school, as well as a baseball/softball complex and football stadium (built around existing competition field) at Dripping Springs High School.

Dripping Springs High School is a comprehensive public high school which consists of grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. The enrollment is approximately 1,550 students. DSHS has a 99 percent graduation rate, with approximately 93% of graduates attending either a two-year or four-year post-secondary institution.
Drippings Springs High School received many recognitions in recent years such as: The 2012 "College Readiness Award" from the Texas ACT Council for maintaining or increasing the number of students taking the ACT Assessment over the past five years and significantly increasing their level of achievement and college readiness.
Dripping Springs High School has been recognized as one of the top high schools in Central Texas by the organization Children at Risk for the past several years, ranking seventh in the spring of 2015. Dripping Springs High School is ranked among the 100 top high schools in the nation according to The Daily Beast's poll released in August 2014, ranking 83rd in the country and eighth in the state of Texas. U.S. News & World Report recognized Dripping Springs HS as one of the top high schools in the country in the Spring of 2015. DSHS earned the designation of "Silver Medal" for the third time, and currently is ranked 113th in the state of Texas and #1014 on the national list. Dripping Springs High School was featured on the Newsweek list honoring "America's Top High Schools," published in September 2014, ranking 274th in the nation, 17th in the state of Texas, and ninth among the state's open-enrollment comprehensive high schools (regardless of size).
