Dream 100 (100.2 FM) is an Independent Local Radio station that formerly broadcast 24 hours a day across north east Essex and south east Suffolk from Colchester. Since the inception of sister station Town 102 in Ipswich in 2006, Town 102 has taken over the South Suffolk broadcasting area, leaving Dream 100 to focus on North Essex.

History

The station has its roots as Mellow 1557 on 1557MW in 1990. On September 1, 1998, it was sold by Radio First to Tindle Radio Ltd and later in 1998 became an FM station. Former pirate radio DJ Bill Rollins has been at the Tendring station through its various evolutions, from day 1 in 1990.

Broadcast Area

Dream broadcasts on 100.2FM from a transmission site Telstar Nurseries at Cook's Green near Little Clacton in Tendring at 2KW. But moved sites in January 2011 to Valleybridge Road which is where the new Freeview site for Clacton is.

Programming

Programmes between 0600 and 1900 Monday to Friday and between 0800 and 1200 on Saturday and Sunday are produced in the Town 102 studios near Ipswich for broadcast on Dream 100. Programmes outside these times are shared with all Anglian Radio stations. From 27th February 2017, all programming is shared with Town 102 using the same playout and announcer but with station unique idents.
