Dravyavati River, also known as Amaanishaah naala, originates in Jaisalya village, on the western slope of Amber hills and flows through the Jaipur city, north to south over a length of 47.5 km to meet Dhund river. Most of the Jaipur city's population stays within the 10 km periphery of Dravyavati river.
In past couple of decades, the river has lost its flow and purity of water because of sewerage mixed with domestic waste water and industrial waste from various city areas drains being dumped into the river. To change the fate of the river, Jaipur Development Authority ( JDA ) initiated a project for Rejuvenation of Dravyawati River. In August 2016, JDA has given a contract to a consortium of Tata Projects and Shanghai Urban Construction Group at a project cost of Rs1,676 crore to complete the project by October 2018.
