The Downton Brewery is a microbrewery in Downton, Wiltshire, which started brewing in April 2003. It now has a 20 barrel brewing plant, producing up to 60 barrels a week.

For its size the brewery has an incredibly large range of ales, with over 30 ale varieties produced annually between bottle and cask. These include core beers, monthly specials, seasonals, four "Chimera 4 Seasons" specials and various one-offs. In making their beers, they regularly use barley, wheat, oat and rye malts; hops from eight countries, along with a variety of herbs, spices, fruits and honey.

The brewery currently does not run regular brewery tours, but is open daily from 08.00 until 16.30 (Monday to Friday) to cater to the public, and patrons are encouraged to drop in and see how the beer is made.

  • Endeavour (March until stocks run out) - ABV 10%. Very strong, ultra-hoppy double IPA brewed with all Australian hops (Ella, Galaxy, Summer, Topaz)
  • Apple Blosom Ale (April to July) - ABV 4.3%. Light Ale with a crisp hint of apple blosom.
  • German Pale Ale (August to October) - ABV 4.2%. Pilsner-esque pale ale with all German hops.
  • Roman Imperial Stout (November until stocks run out) - ABV 9.0%. Very dark, very robust imperial stout with huge flavour.

  • Hopoholic ("Chimera 4 Seasons" spring special) - ABV 4.0%. Triple hopped during the brew and dry hopped in fermentor with whole leaf Galaxy hops.
  • Straight Set Creaming ("Chimera 4 Seasons" summer special) - ABV 4.0%. Golden ale with strawberries and vanilla.
  • Brewtopia ("Chimera 4 Seasons" autumn special) - ABV 4.2%. Autumn beer with sweet potato and spices.
  • The Dog's Baubles ("Chimera 4 Seasons" winter special) - ABV 7.2%. Christmas tree winter warmer with pine.
  • Dragon'sVenom - ABV 4.0%. Ginger stout.
