Donbass Development Center (DDC) is a non-commercial Humanitarian organization, which was established in September 2015 in order to save peace in the region ,as well as restoration and development of Donbass. It was accredited in DPR as an international humanitarian mission, being the only regional organization with the appropriate status.

About organization
DDC is the implementing partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences. Anastasia Khmelnytskaya is the Chairman of the organization. The activities aimed at the physical and personal development of the population are regularly carried out on the basis of DDC in Donetsk. These are the lectures about the start of individual business activity, social engineering trainings and financial literacy. In the structure of the organization there are social and business incubators to create and develop the new social and business initiatives. There are more than 10 researches in different spheres of society were carried out in 2015-2016. In particular, the summary analysis of humanitarian need and medical institution needs of Donetsk region was constituted for 2016.
Support for older people
A list of non-food humanitarian assistance for the elderly was formed in Donetsk. These are crutches, walkers, walking sticks, close stools, diapers, swaddling clothes, bed-pans, hygiene packages, underwear and applicators. More than fifteen hundred older people received this inventory.
First aid courses
In the mid-May 2016 DDC launched the first pre-medical assistant courses. A lot of specialists of the Center train people in first aid for free. During the study such topics as cardiopulmonary resuscitation, traumas, bleeding, burns, hypothermia and acute state of health with common diseases are discussed. Trainees work out the skills of chest compression, artificial ventilation, expelling of foreign bodies from the airway. The structure of body, mechanisms and processes that occur in acute state of health are explained with the help of visual aids. A certificate, the first aid medical kit and the first aid allowance are given at the end of training. The time of courses is about eight hours. Everyone can master them in one day.
Construction retraining
DDC offers the assistance for Donbass people in free basic constructions retraining. They are painter, plasterer, assembler of drywall constructions, bricklayer and electrician. All students will receive certificates and a set of tools for their profession, after the completion of the courses on the basis of educational institutions in Donetsk region.
Assistance in restoration and reconstruction of the social infrastructure objects
The renovated Donetsk kindergarten № 368 Ugoliok was opened on May 26. Its reconstruction began on 1 April 2016. Then, 14 DDC volunteers, supported by patrons and authorities restored the roof, held antiseptic and preparatory work, made the repair of the interior walls, mounted the ceiling, partially replaced the padding. Since 2013 the issue of Ugoliok kindergarten closure has been raising, in connection with the emergency state of the building. The kindergarten was attended by 156 children and comprised 56 people staff. Another infrastructure object, which has been restored, was Erudit lyceum. Its restoration work began in May 2016. The project carried out the replacement of damaged windows and radiators. The plasterboard structures with the following redecoration were replaced on the upper floor. 12 volunteers were involved in this work, which ended in June 2016.
Maternity and childhood support
Since April 2016 the first phase of the project in distribution of free medicines for expectants, nursing mothers and children and also the distribution of medical equipment for medical facilities has been realizing. Three medical institutions in Gorlovka have received all about 180 types of specialized medical equipment with a total value of approximately 15 million rubles.
Development of civil society and business
Direction has been implementing since April 2016 and is aimed on the forming of the support opportunities for indigent, civil and commercial initiatives in Donetsk. Coworking, consulting and training centers are based on the basis of the project. They are aimed on assisting citizens, who wishes to find the job, to start their own business ant to improve knowledge and personal qualities. The program offers indigents the possibility of getting the qualified and free accountant, lawyer, IT and RP specialist assistance.
Agricultural development
At the end of December 2015 the distribution of the agricultural feed for animals was carried out in Lugansk. In the 43 front-line settlements 100 tons of feed were distributed to 1000 rural households, which were defined in the local Ministry of Social Policy. At the end of the project the analytical report on the agricultural sector in Lugansk was created.
Partners for cooperation
Donbass Development Center cooperates with various United Nation clusters, Russian Institute for Strategic Studies, Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, other public and academic institutions as well as institutions of local and union governments, by signing a cooperation agreement with the Youth Council of Unions Federation and DDC cooperation.
