Donald Barr (August 8, 1921, Manhattan, New York – February 5, 2004, Langhorne, Pennsylvania) was a US educator and author, who taught English at Columbia University, was headmaster at the Dalton School in New York City (1964–74), the Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York, and was the author of two science fiction novels.

Career

Barr served in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) during World War II. He later initiated the Columbia University Science Honors Program in 1958 and was its director until 1964. He worked as a book reviewer for The New York Times.

Personal

Barr's wife was Mary and they had 4 children, including Attorney General William P. Barr.
