Album information

The tracks "June Afternoon", "You Don't Understand Me", "She Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and "I Don't Want to Get Hurt" were newly recorded for this album. "Almost Unreal" had not been previously released on a Roxette album. It was used in the 1993 movie Super Mario Bros.. "You Don't Understand Me", "June Afternoon" and "She Doesn't Live Here Anymore" were released as singles. "The Look '95" was released as a maxi-single in the UK. This version of "It Must Have Been Love (1990)" had also never been previously released on any Roxette album up to this point.

The lead single from the album was "You Don't Understand Me". The American hit-maker Desmond Child and Per Gessle co-wrote that song, originally intended for submission to other artists. Impressed with the moody ballad, Gessle decided to keep it and asked Marie Fredriksson to record the vocals. Roxette then realised that this 'project' song would make an ideal Roxette track. It was the first time that an "outsider", as described by Gessle, co-wrote a Roxette song.

The album was released in late 1995 in Australia. With minimal promotion, it made little impact on the ARIA Albums Chart, failing to enter the Australian top 40 after every one of the duo's previous albums had enjoyed great success on the album charts there. In mid-1996, some six months later, EMI Australia began to promote the album with a collection of TV commercials; Don't Bore Us then entered the Australian top 20 in June 1996 and eventually peaked at #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The greatest hits package was certified platinum and made the top 40 for the end-of-year best-selling albums.

When the album was finally issued in the US in 2000, all original songs aside from "You Don't Understand Me" as well as songs that were not released/did not chart ("The Big L." and "Vulnerable") were cut; instead, "Church of Your Heart" was added (which had been a top 40 hit there in 1992), and two singles ("Wish I Could Fly" and "Stars") from the duo's then-most recent album, Have a Nice Day, were added.
