Awards and achievements

In 2009, Dodgen Middle School was awarded the Georgia Schools of Excellence award by the Georgia Department of Education.

In the 2011-2012 school year, Dodgen Middle School was named as a participating school in The Clean Air Campaign.

In the 2014-2015 school year, the Dodgen Middle School Science Olympiad team won first place in the state championship, after finishing runners-up in the state championship for the past two years. The team was invited to the Science Olympiad national championship all 3 years because of its performances at the state championships.

In the 2016-2017 year, the Dodgen Chamber Orchestra won first place in the Middle School Division of the National Orchestra Festival held by the American String Teachers Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
