Divya Palat (born 23 May 1979 in Calcutta, India) is an Award-winning Producer and Director for theatre plays like -"A Personal War- Stories of the Mumbai Terror Attacks" and was a Hindi actress who has done many films, such as Masti with Vivek Oberoi, Dhund with Apurva Agnihotri, Kuch Naa Kaho with Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan, Krishna Cottage with Sohail Khan, Dil Bechara Pyaar Ka Mara with actress Mallika Kapoor. She also acted in an Indian television series named Captain Vyom (aired in late 90s). She is from the royal family of Cochin State. Her great grand father built the Durbar Hall in Cochin and the Town Hall in Trichur, it was during his time that the roads to Munnar, Trichur and Chittur were constructed and macadamised. Her other great grandfather, Mr. R. M. Palat, was a Minister under self-government. Apart from this, her other relatives include diplomats (K. P. S. Menon, P. A Menon), Generals (Lt. Gen. Candeth, Brigadier Sankaran Nair), Privy Councillors (Sir C. Madhavan Nair) and others.

As her father was periodically transferred, Divya studied in schools in Mumbai, New York and in Delhi. After completing her schooling, she went to Stanford in California before returning to India. In India, she began her acting career in a TV series, Captain Vyom. Prior to this she had acted in several plays, including Sound of Music and Legend of Ram.

In early 2000s, she set up a Production Company, "Balancing Act Productions", that has produced several highly acclaimed plays, including the Award-winning "A Personal War- Stories of the Mumbai Terror Attacks", "The Verdict", "The Graduate", "Love Bytes", "Starring U & Me!", and "The Wizard of Oz".

In 2006, she began making short films and teaching short films. She has also branched out into Hindi plays.

She wrote a play based on the survivors of the 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attacks, entitled 'A Personal War- Stories of the Mumbai Terror Attacks.' This play was ranked among the top 3 plays at the Edinburgh Fringe festival '08, from among over 35,600 plays, and she was awarded the Top Honours for Outstanding direction at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2010.

Palat travels extensively. She is devoted to her cocker spaniel Cookie. She is also into travelling and visits exotic destinations periodically. She loves adventure sports and is an avid bungee jumper, water skier, parachutist and white water rafter. She has swum with sharks, sat on elephants, and ridden on dolphins.

She has a sister Nikhila Palat .Divya Palat is married to well-known television and movie actor Aditya Hitkari.
