Dharti Kahe Pukarke (Hindi: ; translation: Call of the Earth) is a 1969 Hindi language film produced under banner Vaishali Films by Deenanath Shastri and directed by Dulal Guha. Jeetendra, Nanda, Kanhaiyalal, Durga Khote and Sanjeev Kumar play the lead with Tarun Bose, Abhi Bhattacharya, Jagdev, Leela Mishra, Asit Sen, Manmohan, A. K. Hangal and Amol Sen in the support cast. Laxmikant-Pyarelal scrored the music for this film with lyrics written by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

A college student with dreams of becoming an IPS officer, Arjun is basically a son of the soil. One day, when he is coming back to his village on a vacation with his bosom friend Deepak, a car accident changes his life dramatically. Deepak, who is driving the car, happens to run over a villager, Shankar, who subsequently succumbs to his injuries. Arjun, however, insists on taking the blame on himself and surrenders to the police.

Plot

Kanhaiyalal plays a poor farmer living with his wife and two half brothers (played by Sanjeev Kumar and Jeetendra). Sanjeev Kumar studies law supported by his brothers while Jeetendra helps Kanhaiyalal in cultivating the piece of land they own. Kanhaiyalal loans some amount from local moneylender against this piece of land for Sanjeev Kumars law studies. Jeetendra is also in love with this moneylenders daughter, played by Nanda. With the passage of time, industrialisation and circumstances compel the brothers to disperse. Married Sanjeev Kumar, after learning about the amount loaned by his brother, leaves his modern wife, brothers and decides to come back only after he has sufficient amount to repay the loan. On the other hand, Jeetendra moves to the city as a driver to earn livelihood. How the family values, proper education, righteousness and eternal bond between the brothers help them getting together forms the rest of the story.
