Programming

The convention typically offers anime and live action screenings, artist alley, concerts, cosplay showcase, costume competitions, dances, dealers room, game shows, karaoke, LARP, manga library, panels, tabletop gaming, vendors, video gaming, and workshops.

Guests usually do at least one individual Q&A panel, along with other specialized panels about their craft. Autographs from guests are usually available during the course of the weekend.

History

DerpyCon was founded by Jenthony Enterprises, Inc., the same team that created the Vidgle podcast, Con Goer, after using the name as the background event in their independent film, Con Drama.

Author C. J. Henderson was supposed to attend the convention's inaugural year, but was forced to cancel due to his failing health. He died the July before the convention took place, and the convention, along with several of the other guests, created a panel in his honor for the fans who had wanted to meet him.

Collaborations

DerpyCon staff have provided video gaming support with consoles, games, televisions, and tournaments at New Jersey Comic Anime Con, Jaycon, and Immortal Con.
