Der Österreichische Volkswirt (also known as ÖVW; meaning The Austrian Economist in English) was a German language economics and political magazine published in Vienna, Austria. It was the first business publication in the country.
History and profile
ÖVW was started in Vienna in 1908. The founder of the magazine was Walther Federn. The magazine was published biweekly.
Karl Polanyi contributed to the magazine in the mid-1920s. He was also on the editorial team from 1924 to 1938. Peter F. Drucker was another contributor to the magazine.
ÖVW ceased publication in 1938. The magazine was restarted on a weekly basis at the end of 1945.
