Democracia Abierta is the Latin section of the OpenDemocracy website, covering issues like democracy, mobilization, participation, human rights and civil rights. It publishes in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Latin Section
Established in January 2015 democraciaAbierta is OpenDemocracy's Latin section. It is one of its five main sections, the other four being: oDR (on liberty in Russia and Eurasia); 50.50 (strategies for inclusive democracy); Transformation and openDemocracyUK. openDemocracy was founded in 2001.) and publishes up to 60 articles a week, attracting over 8 million visits per year.
The web site carries reporting and analysis of social and political issues With human rights as its central focus.
